Many 21-year-olds take a gap year, travel and explore their wild side, but some like Verona Magalhas join the workforce. Just two days after her 21st birthday, Verona joined PropShop24 where she quickly learned the ropes and is now an integral part of the team.

There is a lot to Verona than meets the eye and since she just joined us we thought it would be a great opportunity to get to know her through our ‘Meet The Team’ feature. So, let’s have a look at what she has to say.

Team PropShop24: What exactly do you do at PropShop24 and what do you enjoy the most about this job role?
Verona: I joined PropShop24 in January 2018, 2 days after my 21st birthday. I worked for 6 months in the operations department and when our warehouse moved out (in July), I joined the merchandising team where I now do Merchandising Operations. My job is basically coordinating with brands regarding restocks, prices or any changes they may want in their products on our website. Along with that, I also do website management- which is basically doing image or description clean-ups for the brands we launch every week. The best way to describe my work is chaotic haha. I have to be pretty organised which is something I’m still learning to do. I’m really enjoying it though. And working with such a fun and dedicated group of people makes it easier.

TPS24: What has been the most priceless gift anyone has given you?
VM: I recently got myself a stand mixer. Don’t get me wrong, I value all the gifts I’ve received and they’re all equally precious but me being able to do this for myself somehow means everything. Besides, it makes my weekend baking easier; doing almost all the work for me.

TPS24: What is your all-time favourite movie, that you can watch over and over again?
VM: I love a good thriller and if I had to pick a favourite I’d choose Shutter Island because
1) Leonardo DiCaprio and
2) Leonardo DiCaprio haha.
Really though, I’ve watched that movie over 20 times and it still gives me chills.

TPS24: What is your favourite music to listen to on your commute to work and why?
VM: It actually depends on my mood or what day of the week it is. Like Mondays call for something upbeat, preferably some of Eminem’s older music, while some days I prefer Adele’s haunting ballads.

TPS24: Give us five adjectives to describe your ideal day
VM: Okay – Cold (a miracle in Bombay), Productive, Relaxed, Joyful and most importantly Memorable.

TPS24: Who is your role model, what exactly about that person do you admire?
VM: That would be my mother, as cliché as it sounds, it’s true! A woman of faith who’s endlessly selfless. Her strength inspires me everyday.

TPS24: What are your favourite PropShop24 products and who would you gift it to?

TPS24: If you could change one thing about your life right now, what would it be and why?
VM: I’d take myself back in time to 2011 and make sure I was at the Wankhede stadium to witness that epic Dhoni helicopter shot and India lifting the World Cup. I’d give almost anything for that!

TPS24: What’s your favourite post clubbing food?
VM: Fried Chicken! That’s pretty much the solution to all of life’s problems haha!

TPS24: Lastly, If you could go on a date with your celebrity crush, who would it be, where would you take them and why!?
VM: A date night with a shirtless Zac Efron, watching High School Musical movies (thanking God puberty hit Zac Efron) and binging on pizza. Too elaborate? While we are in that alternate universe, I’d also like myself to not be as awkward, please!

Well, we certainly got to know Verona better. Who would have thought that she is a huge Dhoni fan and loves thriller movies?
